lyrics
Where were you when the sky flew down?
And the sun just ain’t around
When the dark shades the light at the end of the tunnel
And as the night grows older
Chain smoking till my skin gets colder
Drinking till the cow comes home
My shadows won’t fade on they own
It’s getting colder now
And my breath shows me how
It’s getting colder now
No spirits left to gaze
No light left in the daze
So I can be put back in the place
Sometimes loss and connection
Can feel like a resurrection
Use me for your protection
Because I'm all that’s left
Just like the first day of winter
Sitting on the porch growing sicker
As I’m frozen with the snowstorm behind
Tell me why
A fantastic album. I can see why they didn't continue under the name The Evens, as it's a different sound with the bass added. Coriky is the Evens + Joe Lally from Fugazi on bass. If you can imagine The Evens with a slightly more funky, aggressive sound like Fugazi... that's what you get! And there's no way that can ever go wrong. What a great debut album!! smiledozer
